Doctors Have Not Recommended Men to Take Birth Control Pills

Male contraceptive pills have been tested for safety in humans, according to experts at a medical conference. This type of contraception is the latest in addition to condoms or vasectomy.

But doctors at the endocrine community meeting, the 2019 Endocrine Society in New Orleans, United States, said that just a decade away, the new male pill was available on the market.

How in Indonesia? It turns out that birth control pills for the adam still cannot be accepted in the country.

"Yes because the birth control pill for men is not popular and does not circulate in us. The point is to turn off sperm cells for men, so it is not practical, in the sense that the word condom is easier to use. Pills should be taken continuously," said Dr. Reino Rambey, Sp.OG, in the Folkaland program, 'Kupas Complete the Pregnant Program,' at Balai Sarwono, Kemang, South Jakarta, Sunday, March 31, 2019.

Birth control pills for men are deadly sperm cells so it is not recommended for men's health. Although it does not reduce sexual arousal, Dr. Reino didn't suggest.

"If I do not recommend, especially for people who still don't have children because the level of contraception in other women is not cell-killing. If this (male birth control pill) turns off the cell," he said.

Regarding the long-term effects, the male birth control pill cannot be determined because it is still relatively new.

"Something that is dead will cause the tissue to become unhealthy. Long-term research does not yet exist, whether it will become cancer and so on has not been answered because contraception in men is relatively new," said Dr. Reino..
